Groups involve children and older adults coming together, in a communal space (often in an aged care facility), for a 45 to 60 minute musical playgroup. The group incorporates multi-sensory activities such as singing familiar songs, instrument playing, movement to music, and props to engage children and older adults at a range of different levels of functioning. All songs and activities are carefully designed by the music therapist to encourage and maximise interactions between the children and older adults.
